Annual Meeting Program

The Annual Meeting Program Committee is responsible for the development of the agenda for the MAPS Annual Meeting. This committee will work closely with MAPS staff and leadership to:

  • Propose topics of interest and importance to the Medical Affairs profession that align with MAPS vision and mission
  • Identify speakers who are experts in the identified topic area
  • Have initial outreach to approved speakers; MAPS staff will follow up with formal invitations
  • Work with speakers to ensure development of appropriate presentations
  • Recommend keynote speakers
  • Create annual meeting evaluation
  • Analyze annual meeting evaluation results
  • Assess success of prior year’s program and recommend potential changes in agenda format/structure based on attendee feedback

Regional Activities

These committees will be created on an as-needed basis according to global geographic needs (eg, APAC, Central/South America).

eCADEMY

The eCADEMY Committee is responsible for the MAPS education platform that is delivered through the MAPS elearning initiative. These activities may cover the Medical Affairs profession directed to a single function within Medical Affairs, or be related to a healthcare/biopharmaceutical issue of relevance. Each webinar may have up to 3 faculty, as required by the topic. The committee will interface with MAPS staff and leadership for their input on, and to finalize, topics, speakers, and presentations.

Specific responsibilities for the eCADEMY Committee include:

  • Identify topics of interest and importance to the Medical Affairs profession that align with MAPS vision and mission
  • Determine speakers who are experts in the identified topic area
  • Invite speakers to participate as webinar faculty
  • Work with speakers to ensure development of an appropriate presentation
  • Work with MAPS staff and speakers to schedule and execute pre-recording of the webinar
  • Provide content for the MAPS eblast announcing the webinar
  • Maintain a 3-month rolling roster of webinar topics for website posting so members can see at least the next 3 webinar topics

Resources & News

The Educational Resources and News Committee is responsible for the identification of materials of relevance to Medical Affairs professionals that can be

  • Posted in the MAPS Vault
  • Distributed to members
  • Made publicly available
  • Become the basis for an eCADEMY webinar

This committee will also be responsible for the ongoing review of the resources on the website, and recommend deletions/changes/updates to dovetail with changes in the Medical Affairs/life sciences environment. This committee will liaise with MAPS Director of Member Engagement, who is responsible for vetting materials for posting or distribution, and acquiring permission, as needed, to utilize said materials. This committee will also liaise with the eCADEMY Committee regarding topics for educational webinars.
