Susan Malecha is a results-driven versatile medical professional with a proven track record for achievement in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry. She has a broad range of management and leadership experience, strong business acumen and outstanding performance results with several complex customers involving medical affairs, medical marketing, medical education, Medical Science Liaison leadership, new product development, managed markets, clinical trial support, commercial and traditional clinical practice. She graduated with a BS in Pharmacy from Butler University, completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at University of Illinois at Chicago, and earned her Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. She currently is the Senior Director, Medical Affairs at Puma Biotechnology. She was recently the Lead, National Managed Care Liaisons and the Sr. Director, BioOncology Medical Science Liaisons at Genentech. Prior to her biotech positions, Susan was the Sr. Director of a clinical field-based team, Director of Managed Care field based medical team and the Director of Medical Education at a large pharmaceutical company.
Susan is an active member of Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), as current President of the San Diego Chapter. She is also Vice-President on the Board of Directors for the California Special Projects Fund for American Association University of Women (AAUW). She is an active presenter/lecturer on medical affairs topics for pharmaceutical industry. She has published papers in Pharmacotherapy, Drug Information Journal, Breast Cancer- Targets and Therapies, MSL Quarterly, DIA Forum, American Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy and American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. She published a book, Bridging Scientific Knowledge: The Role of the Medical Science Liaison in 2009, and she contributed to a chapter to Erin Albert’s 2008 book and 2011 e- book, Medical Science Liaisons A to Z.
