Suzette is a dedicated medical education professional having held various positions with increasing levels of responsibility within industry over the past 15 years. She currently leads Scientific Education at Celgene Corporation based in Summit, NJ, now Bristol-Myers Squibb. Prior to Celgene, Suzette successfully led Medical Education strategy and IITs at Sandoz, a Novartis Company and led the Medical Education team at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals while also executing educational strategy for the respiratory therapeutic area. Additional leadership positions in medical education also include Purdue Pharma, as well as earlier roles at Bayer Healthcare, Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Merck where she covered medical education strategy across a diverse range of therapeutic areas including, heme/onc, cardiovascular, and pain and opioid risk management.
Suzette is a prior Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and completed her CLS training at the Bristol Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in NJ which ultimately fostered her passion about the importance of integrated and appropriate patient, caregiver and clinician education to ensure optimal coping and psychosocial support for pediatric patients. Suzette’s Child Life experience includes Columbia Presbyterian, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, The Hospital for Joint Disease / NYU Hospital, and St. Barnabas Medical Center within the areas of outpatient and inpatient HEMONC, nephrology, orthopedics, PICU, emergency medicine, and surgical medicine.
Suzette is a Certified Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) since 2009 and in 2014 completed her Gradate Certificate in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Law and Compliance from Seton Hall University School of Law. Suzette also holds a BS in Human Development from Radford University and an MBA from Walden University.
Suzette has contributed to various medical education industry groups including the Continuing Education (CE) Sub Team for the first FDA opioid class-wide Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS), was an inaugural member of the Industry Alliance for Continuing Education’s (IACE) Benchmarking Group and is actively involved in the IACE’s Alliance Industry Summit (AIS) Working Group.
Suzette is a NJ native from Hillsborough and currently resides in the east end of Long Island with her husband Joe. She is a very proud mom to Dylan, a 13-year cancer survivor (now 14 years old), and teenage twins, Jared and Jaden. When not working she is driving Dylan to fencing or is on her Peloton bike or tread working towards her 1,000th ride.
