Medical Information Globalization

Speakers: Kamal Tambakuwala, PharmD and Wendy Chen, PharmD

Join us for a review of Allergan’s journey to globalize the Medical Information Department. We will tell the story of how two separate companies merged and integrated the MI department to create one aligned department, continued to  expand into international markets to become a globalized function, and launched an initiative to create a standardized, geographically-neutral medical information response. We will discuss the process and operational activities that were critical in driving the success of this endeavor.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the strategic implementation of a “follow-the-sun” model and challenges associated with globalizing a Medical Information function.
  2. Describe the approach to integrate two Medical Information departments and create one centralized Medical Information database/system
  1. Evaluate an initiative to develop global standard response documents and define workflows for development, review, and approval of global and local standard response documents
  1. Describe the value of a robust Data Analytics platform
