Sara Rouhi is Director of Engagement & Advocacy for Dimensions with responsibility for education and outreach in the US and Canada for both Dimensions and Digital Science’s metrics company, Altmetric. Altmetric is a data science company that specializes in tracking and analyzing online activity around scholarly research outputs — from peer reviewed articles and data sets to software and grey literature— known for the colorful donut and Altmetric Attention Score. Dimensions is a grants database being relaunched in 2018 by Digital Science as a next-gem research life cycle database.
Joining Digital Science in 2014, Sara launched Altmetric’s institutional product, Explorer for Institutions, in North America securing a global customer base including the University of Cambridge, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the National Academies of Science, Pfizer, the World Bank, and many others.
She is active in professional societies in medical and scholarly publishing and is frequently invited to speak on metrics, open access, diversity in publishing, and best practices in public speaking. She is a co-founder of the ISMPP Social Media and Web-Based Metrics Working Group and an active member of the Society for Scholarly Publishing’s Education Committee. She guest blogs for Altmetric and the Scholarly Kitchen and performs stand up and improvisational comedy in Washington DC.
