Sebastian Bather

Sebastian has been President APAC and Japan for Syneos Health since he joined the company in 2015. Japan and APAC are increasingly important to our Medical, Commercial and Clinical Solutions businesses,  as is the case with our global clients, and so Sebastian’s role has focused on developing and executing strategies for growth in this exciting region. Building on a platform of success in the Commercial domain in Japan and China, he is expanding the use of medical field teams and contract sales capabilities for a wide range of Pharma and Devices clients. In Clinical Solutions, where Syneos Health operates in 12 countries in APAC, our globally organized functional teams are widening services from full service and FSP to include consulting, Real World Evidence and Late Stage services.

Since the formation of Syneos Health from the merger of InVentiv Health and INC Research, Sebastian has increasingly focused his time on Medical Affairs and Commercial Solutions.

Previously, Sebastian worked as a strategy consultant for Monitor Group, where he was one of the partners in the Asia Pacific Region. His work focused on corporate and business unit strategy, marketing strategy and organization strategy, in particular in the lifesciences and consumer goods industries.

Sebastian is British, but he has lived in Asia for most of the last 29 years and has lived or worked in 14 Asian countries He was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Cambridge University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was a Sloan Fellow
